What does CBD do? How does CBD work? Do I need to take CBD? To answer these entry-point questions into the world of supplementing with CBD it is essential to understand a bodily system you have likely never heard of: the endocannabinoid system (ECS).
A complex network involved in regulating almost all bodily processes, a well-functioning endocannabinoid system is the gateway to great health, from a happy gut to deep, restful sleep. The ECS was discovered in the 1990s and is now considered to be the most important physiological system involved in establishing and maintaining human health. Think of the ECS as your body’s ‘master regulator’: its main function is to maintain homeostasis in your brain and body regardless of what life throws at you…stress and a lack of sleep, for example.
